Harmony was founded in 1995 after the tragic suicide of a young student in our community. It began in the founder’s home with twelve youth and has grown through-out the years. Harmony was formed to provide an opportunity for young people to express themselves in a safe environment and learn artistic skills to boost their self-esteem and self-confidence. These principles accomplish our mission by offering different art programs to the youth, such as guitar, drums, keyboard, bass, saxophone and Stomp lessons. We are in the process of bringing back the Bully Busters Program that will be presented within the Elementary & High Schools, and this program goes hand in hand with Stomp.
Harmony has no financial fees, pre-requisites, or waiting lists. The youth “pay it forward” for their music lessons by performing an hour of community service activities for each hour of programming they receive by giving back to our community. Our mission is to boost the self-esteem of youth through the vehicle of the arts.
