Haven on the Queensway is a place of refuge for those whose lives may have taken a wrong turn and need a helping hand to get back on track. We help people in crisis by making sure they have food, clothing and basic necessities needed to survive. Once these are in place, the Haven offers multi-layered programs providing an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and security as we help people on their way to becoming more self-sufficient.
The Haven services are:
Food Bank - serving 300 people per week and in partnership with Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank
Clothing Boutique - free clothing for those in need
Hope With Wheels – two vans deliver hot food, clothing, basic necessities, sleeping bags, blankets, and friendly help to the homeless on a twice-weekly basis and more often as required.
First Care – assistance for families with newborns
Stepping Out - assisting those who wish to exit the sex trade
Pathway to Peace - 12 step recovery program
Children’s Book Centre- free books for the children of Haven client
Inmate Rehabilitation (help for those in jail),
Seniors Helping Seniors – reaching isolated seniors with food and friendship
Lakeside Dinner - monthly hot meal for those in need
Health Mission Outreach – free medical, dental, optician, chiropractic, and nutritional care
