Hazel Burns Hospice is a Community, volunteer based charitable Organization providing in-home, compassionate care for people coping with a terminal illness.
About HAZEL BURNS HOSPICE
Founded in 1991 and incorporated in January 1994, the Hospice provides services in the catchment area of the former City of York. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for those with life threatening illnesses. Hospice provides physical, emotional, social, spiritual and practical support to our clients and their families in their home setting with the assistance of volunteers. Compassion and caring are the hallmark tradition of the Hazel Burns Hospice staff and volunteers. Our volunteers are carefully selected and must complete an intensive 33 hour training program standardized by the Hospice Association of Ontario. We achieved HAO Accreditation in September 2008.
Our services are free of charge and availalbe to anyone requiring palliative care.
