Heartwood House serves the residents of Ottawa who are marginalized, living in poverty, and/or in need of educational, mental health, emotional, physical, economic, employment, training or recreational support by offering affordable, accessible work space for small non-profit and charitable organizations.

Heartwood House helps its member groups maximize their services by providing a mutually supportive, hospitable and empowering environment for their clients and participants, where organizations can collaborate and develop formal and informal partnerships within the House and in the greater community.

Since March 2001 Heartwood has been home to 19 small charitable and non-profit organizations that have been successfully sharing space, ideas and resources to deliver a wide range of services to the Ottawa community, including literacy, second language training, mental health support, immigrant assistance, housing and family supports and skills training.

Over 17,000 people visit Heartwood House each year for services.  Our community is a launching pad for future success for people of all ages and walks of life.
