Vancouver Island children who had their Dreams filled by local organization Help Fill A Dream are fundraising to make more Dreams come true for Island children with severe health challenges and life threatening conditions. This incredible phenomenon started two years ago at the annual Golf For Kids Charity Classic fundraising tournament with just one boy – nine-year-old Andrei - and has grown to include seven kids this year.
Seven special kids who have had their Dreams filled by Help Fill A Dream as a result of the Golf For Kids Charity Classic are fundraising to help make Dreams come true for other children. Andrei (10), Aurora (6), Braiden (19), Seth (13), Emma (14) and twins Asher and Nolan (9) have banded together and have raised over $14,000 so far. Money was raised through bake sales, making crafts, birthday parties, recycling bottles, busking, hosting a breakfast, odd jobs and selling lemonade. They will kick off the fundraising this year at the 21st Golf For Kids on September 7th by making the first donation of the day. It is incredibly inspiring for the 400 players, volunteers and special guests to see these kids paying it forward.
We don’t want their fundraising to end there - in these final weeks before the big event, these children have created this online fundraising page in their names and they are asking you to join them in their efforts to make other children’s Dreams come true.
More than just a charity golf tournament, the Golf for Kids Charity Classic is the one of the most successful single day fundraising tournaments in the country, bringing together golfers, volunteers, community advocates and devoted youth in support of BC kids and their families. The entire day is about paying it forward and making dreams come true.
