Our purpose is to share Henri Nouwen's vision of spiritual transformation as people experience themselves to be God's Beloved.
Henri Nouwen was one of the most prolific and widely read spiritual writers of the late 20th century. Nouwen’s spirituality resonated with people across the religious, spiritual, cultural and political spectrum. Nouwen was an advocate for the poor and the marginalized, teaching that authentic spirituality and social justice are inextricably linked.
Today, the Henri Nouwen Society reaches nearly 70,000 readers with free Daily Meditations. Our "Now & Then" podcast has had over 700,000 listens. And nearly 9 million copies of Nouwen's books are bring rich spiritual wisdom to people all over the world.
The Society has a rich video library available free through our website featuring Nouwen teaching and preaching, past conference keynotes, meditation series, and webinars. Resources on peace-making, care-giving, and spiritual practice are all available.
Our collaboration with Prison Fellowship is called "Father to the Fatherless" and brings Nouwen's best-seller, The Return of the Prodigal Son, to prisoners.
