Many children residing in the slum district of Korah, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia eat only once a day. The quality of food is extremely poor, and most of these boys and girls are underweight. It is common for these children to have poor participation - even fainting during classes - in school because they have not eaten.
As a result, our Berta Breakfast Program serves nutritious pancakes everyday to over 500 children. These pancakes are fortified with vitamins and minerals specifically designed for malnourished children. We also serve milk to further improve physical growth and bone development!
