In many areas of rural Africa fresh water is very difficult to locate. Even the water that is carried by hand great distances for use in family homes is contaminated. Many communities are full of illness due to the water supply. Alcohol is consumed as it is often safer than the water supply. HOPEthiopia is drilling shallow water wells throughout rural communities, giving them fresh, healthy, convenient water. Where drilling wells is not possible, water purification systems are delivered creating healthier communities
