The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (KWSPHS) is caring for a small dog that came into care on July 9th in extremely poor health. The dog, named Milo by KWSPHS, was picked up as a stray near Bluevale Collegiate in Waterloo and no owner has been found.
Milo has been tentatively diagnosed with chronic severe allergies with secondary bacterial and yeast infections, and is being treated for external parasites including mange, to be cautious. He also has infections in both ears and has been diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS, or “dry eye”). For the skin to become as severely infected as it is, it would have taken months if not years to get to this state.
Milo is expected to be under veterinary care for an extended period of time and as a result, his cost of care will be increased. Between tests, parasite treatment and medications, his medical care has already reached $500 (not including any other care costs) and doesn’t account for any future medical needs.
Help us help Milo by donating towards his total cost of care.
Anything raised over our goal for Milo that he does not need will be used for other animals at our centre like him.
