The Hyack Festival Association aims to build the ‘Spirit of Community’ by producing free large-scale community events and experiences that are inclusive, intergenerational, diverse, and multicultural. Now more than ever, as our citizens have spent time apart, the need for common bonds of positivity is palpable. When we provide opportunities to bring us all together in celebration and camaraderie over shared experiences of joy, our community thrives, and we are dedicated to this mission.

About HYACK FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION

Throughout the year, the HFA organizes events and projects that generate community spirit including our Hyack International Parade & Festival in the Park and the Farewell to Summer Fireworks at the Westminster Quay. From community organizations and non-profits, to multicultural groups, LGBTQ and Indigenous representatives, and a vast array of attendees from all walks of life, the diversity of our participants is a heartwarming blend of the many groups that make up our community. 

We pride ourselves on the many community partnerships we have formed with businesses, community and charitable organizations, arts groups, and other key community stakeholders. Established in 1971, we have been building community spirit through annual festivals and events, while preserving the City’s rich history and promoting New Westminster beyond its borders. Our members and our volunteers are dedicated to making our community a beloved place to live, work, and play.
