God planted the seeds of I AM Ministry in early 2011.  At the time, we were active church leaders, but we both felt God calling us to more. God's church is about people, not walls or programs! Our vision has grown from using that initial website as a platform for God's work, and we are exciting at the possibilities ahead of us. God gave us the Bible verse John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life", from which "I AM Ministry" was born. God has amazing things planned, and we invite you to visit our website to see the latest activities.

Since starting our ministry in 2011 we have expanded our outreach and mission by ministering to pastors in developing countries such as Myanmar, the Philippines, and India, and also to our local churches here in Winnipeg. In 2012 Margriet started a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group. Since then, the members have tripled and all the moms are thankful for the connections they have made and the support they get from the group.

In 2013, we followed God’s call to the North End of Winnipeg, an area that is often on the news because of poverty, drugs, and gang related activities. We volunteered at a community centre, getting to know the local people, who are mainly aboriginal. We were also invited to help a struggling church in the area with discipleship training (Alpha), preaching, and working with the leaders to move the church forward. We have also built connections with several inner city ministries, and are excited at the opportunities to help them reach out to their neighbourhoods.
