Immanuel Christian School was founded in 1986, when a group of parents sought to provide an excellent, Christ-centered education for their children. This founding group approved a constitution, established a membership, and elected the first board of directors. There were ten students enrolled in the opening year.

Since that time, the school has grown to include Kindergarten through grade 12 with enrolment numbers in the 170s for the 2020-21 school year.

The school is owned by an association of parents, friends, and alumni who are unified around a Reformed statement of faith. The membership is not associated with any one particular church or denomination. The nine-member board of directors is elected from within the ranks of the membership and is responsible for the governance of the school.

We have a very open admission policy: at present, 25 different churches are represented by our school families.
