About Bryony House
Since 1978, Bryony House—operated by the Halifax Transition House Association—has provided a safe haven for women and children fleeing intimate partner violence. We believe every woman and child deserves to live free from abuse, and we are here to help make that a reality.
At Bryony House, we offer more than shelter—we offer safety, support, and a path to healing. Whether through our 24-hour emergency shelter, crisis line, or community-based outreach services, our dedicated team is here every day, around the clock, to help women and their children find stability, rebuild their lives, and begin the journey toward a future free of violence.
As the largest women’s shelter in Atlantic Canada, our programs are designed to meet the complex needs of families in crisis, including:
-
24-hour emergency shelter and crisis support line
-
Individual and group outreach counselling for women not in shelter
-
Comprehensive children’s programs offering play-based healing and parenting support
-
Safety planning and help finding long-term housing
-
Referrals to community services and resources
Your support helps us continue to be a lifeline for women and children escaping violence. Every donation makes a difference.
Bryony House - Hope lives here.
