The Doorway shares with participants its proprietary MyPLAN program, it is a two-year planning process which allows young people to use their self-determination to identify and determine for themselves what they need to do to get off "the streets". This process helps young people identify immediate needs and challenges to plan for longer term change. Through goal setting and sound boarding with volunteers, young people gain the knowledge to actively participate in the change they want to make in their lives.

The Doorway is not just about getting young people off "the streets". It is designed as an environment which seeks to discover, understand and communicate the factors which indicate the need for social change in our community. We are a community here to listen without judgement and to give young people a safe space where they can tap into their innate wisdom and chart their own path forward. Making Change is possible.
