The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT), a federally registered, British Columbia incorporated, non-profit charitable organization, is the community foundation for the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve region.
The mission of the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) is to assist the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Region Community to achieve its vision by providing funding and logistical support for research, education and training initiatives that promote conservation and community health.
The CBT facilitates the sharing and exchange of knowledge and experience both locally and globally. The CBT accomplishes these objectives by working creatively and proactively within the framework of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere programme.
The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust supports local research, education, and training that is consistent with a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve's objectives of conservation and community health. The CBT is responsible for initiating educational, scientific and cultural projects and programs in the region, as well as providing financial support to other eligible organizations.
