About the Society of Freethinkers (SOFREE)

SOFREE is a multicultural, charitable organization that advances Humanist principles and fosters a welcoming fellowship for our members and the broader secular community. We encourage the use of reason, ethics, and compassion; we uphold human rights; and we support fair and equitable public policies. SOFREE has been a registered not-for-profit charity since 1992.

Our Mission

Provide a caring and supportive space for those adopting a secular Humanist way of life.

Inspire intellectual growth and creativity by hosting engaging events, offering valuable resources, and encouraging learning about Humanist philosophy, literature, music, and art.

Develop a vibrant social community and outreach network for our members.

Serve as a trusted resource for connecting individuals and families with licensed Humanist Officiants who bring warmth, dignity, and sincerity to weddings, baby welcomings, memorials, and other meaningful life events.
