The Times Colonist Christmas Fund began in 1956 as the Daily Colonist 500 Fund, named for the number of families it was designed to help. The mandate was to collect donations from readers and distribute them to needy Greater Victoria families. Thanks to the generosity of Times Colonist readers, we make Christmas brighter for families in need.
