Kinbridge Community Association

about

Your gift to Kinbridge Community Association has the power to change lives! It means residents in our neighbourhoods can move beyond the effects of poverty, isolation and other life challenges toward resilience, confidence and hope.

Kinbridge Community Association is a grassroots neighbourhood-based organization in Cambridge, Ontario that has worked with residents for over 25 years in two neighbourhoods in South Galt Cambridge: Christopher Champlain and Southwood. Serving a community of more than 34,000, our programs engage individuals from pre-birth to seniors in a wide range of recreation, education, social programs and services.

Reaching individual potential through personal growth is a key focus in the mission of Kinbridge.  Reaching potential can mean finding a job, learning English, improving physical fitness, having nutritious food on the table, strengthen parenting skills, or having a safe place to play and gather after school, in evenings and on weekends in the presence of positive mentors.

As a partner within the community, Kinbridge works with residents where they live to cope with and overcome life challenges.  Services and supports include recreation, education, leadership development, social services and volunteer opportunities.   But Kinbridge does more than deliver programs and services.  We encourage residents in the neighbourhoods to both identify issues and be a part of solutions. This is community development at the grassroots, local level.

Along with our own services, Kinbridge works closely with community partners in Cambridge and Waterloo Region to help meet individual needs and improve community well-being.  Working with partners, Kinbridge ensures that services are not duplicated.

The demand for existing Kinbridge programs and services continues to grow.  As well, new programs and services which help address neighbourhood issues are continually proposed by community members and partners.

Seniors in our neighbourhoods have expressed a need to come together to reduce isolation and loneliness.  We are currently working with seniors to develop gentle exercise and social programs.  There is also a need for broader youth programming opportunities such as leadership development, job skills training and education supports.

While government partners support some of the work of Kinbridge, their funding does not cover all costs.  Kinbridge relies on community donations to keep program costs affordable on existing and new programs.

When you give to Kinbridge, you strengthen individuals, families and community.  We hope you will help.
