Your Rotary Club of Bracebridge annually supports a myriad of worthwhile causes.

IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY:  With our Rotary Cares fund, we quietly help families in need both physically and financially to help them get through a difficult time. We operate the Rotary Centre for Youth and provide it to youth groups at no charge. We operate the Rotary Centennial Garden at the corner of Pine St and Taylor Road and encourage visitors to use the fully accessible paths and seating areas., We arrange the Canada Day fireworks in Bracebridge Bay and the annual Rotary Musical. We give multi-year financial pledges to our local hospital to allow them to purchase needed medical equipment and support other community organizations such as the YWCA. We provide student bursaries to high school students who are moving on to post-secondary education.  We participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange program which allows Canadian and international high school students to spend a year away from their homes. And the list goes on. In short, we are a very active, hands-on Club whose motto is “Service Above Self”.

INTERNATIONALLY: We are instrumental in helping wipe out Polio from the entire world, and our Club sponsors multi-year matching grant projects with Rotary Club host partners around the world.  At present, we are working with a Rotary Club in Dominica to provide beekeeping training, equipment and support to island farmers to provide a secondary source of income for them while also improving the local environment.

HOW WE DO THIS:  We run fundraising events during the year such as our major ticket draw, Canada Day sponsorships, online raffles, sales of Christmas trees and other events throughout the year.  We also gratefully accept donations from the public to help us make our community and world a better place in which to live.
