Thank you for supporting Toronto Green Community in our vision of engaged and connected communities thriving in a sustainable Toronto.
Toronto Green Community is a charitable organization with over 30 years of experience in addressing environmental issues through community engagement and grassroots initiatives. Our mission is to inspire, facilitate and support diverse communities in developing a sustainable city through education, engagement and joint neighbourhood initiatives. Through our programs and employment opportunities we create openings for Indigenous people to share traditional ecological knowledge and implement these practices on the land in an urban setting.
More About Our Initiatives:
RAINscapeTO is a social enterprise offering earth-friendly landscaping services for residential and commercial sites while providing employment and training for Indigenous people and those facing barriers to employment.
Kids Nature Lab is a nature-based outdoor education program designed for children and youth to learn about topics including food cycles, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship through experiential, inquiry-based education.
Eglinton Park Community & Mashkiki Gitigaan (medicine garden) engages volunteers in growing food ecologically, increasing pollinator habitats while offering educational and Indigenous-led workshops.
Lost Rivers offers free, guided community-based walks and citizen research that has created a deep reservoir of online information about Toronto’s hidden rivers, historical ecosystems and changing communities.
