We help empower Indigenous children and youth in remote communities, through projects that support education and foster reconciliation
Soaring Circle (formerly I Love First Peoples) is a Canadian registered charity established in 2012 with a mission to empower Indigenous youth to succeed through projects that support education and help foster reconciliation.
Through our flagship arts and sewing programs, which have served nearly 20,000 students and engaged over 100,000 Canadians, we partner with celebrity friends to encourage all Canadians to cultivate a greater understanding of Indigenous culture and reality. We offer training in financial literacy and entrepreneurship for youth, and establish sewing labs in schools through our Sewcase program.
We have led several historic initiatives, such as organizing the first-ever NHL ceremonies to honour Indigenous peoples on ice during games at the ACC with the Toronto Maples Leafs and in Buffalo with the Buffalo Sabres.
We also tour major films relating to Indigenous history and culture to remote communities, to encourage meaningful dialogue between youth and their elders, on vital topics such as intergenerational trauma and suicide. To date, we have toured the following films: Bones of Crows, Indian Horse, The Grizzlies and Red Snow.
We have proudly served over 120 remote (fly-in) communities, and continue to expand our reach each year.
