Who We Are
Founded in 2019, Stepstone House is proudly based in Ottawa, Canada’s National Capital. We offer a temporary home to over 120 individuals, spread across 10 houses, where we provide shelter, sustenance, and comprehensive settlement services.
What We Do
Our mission is to support and settle refugees and newcomers, guiding them through immigration processes, legal aid, medicals, work permits, job search, and more permanent housing. Residents stay with us for 3-6 months, during which time they receive a warm welcome, personalized care, and assistance.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to cultural diversity, welcoming residents from many countries, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Colombia. Over the next 5 years, our focus will be on enhancing our operational systems, policies, and procedures as well as acquiring another home. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to empower newcomers and refugees as they integrate smoothly into the community.
