Impulse Theatre Society creates and presents contemporary interdisciplinary theatre and dance performance; cultivates a community of artists; and empowers artists, emerging creative producers, and arts workers as leaders.
Our vision is a collaborative and inclusive community of artists who are thriving, inquisitive, and capable regionally, nationally, and beyond. We pursue this vision by creating new work; presenting work at all stages of development; showcasing artists who are taking risks and prioritizing contemporary practices; by hosting workshops and residencies; and establishing strategic partnerships with arts and other organizations that share our values.
OUR HISTORY
Impulse is primarily based on the beautiful territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən/Victoria, British Columbia. Impulse Theatre was founded in the summer of 2010 on a rock in the ocean. We have created over twenty new highly visual and engaging works since inception and have brought work to upintheair's rEvolver Theatre Festival, the Belfry's Spark Festival, Intrepid's Winterlab, UnoFest, and YOU Show series, Theatre SKAM's SKAMpede, the Victoria and Vancouver Fringe Festivals, and the Firehall Arts Centre's BC Buds Festival.Why CanadaHelps
