Our Mission

Inside Out is a non-profit organization that exists to challenge attitudes and change lives through the exhibition, promotion and production of Canadian and international 2SLGBTQ+ cinema by and for those within our communities.

In addition to the flagship film festival in Toronto and a festival in Ottawa, ongoing initiatives include an intergenerational mentorship program, free access to 2SLGBTQ+ media resources through an Online Platform - The Library, an annual youth forum, a touring program and the world's first 2SLGBTQ+ finance forum to support emerging filmmakers. We welcome you to direct your support to Admit All, Inside Out's core fundraising initiative, by donating to one of our key Festival pillars: Programming and Exhibition, Industry Development, Equity and Accessibility, Community Engagement. You can also support Inside Out's longevity by becoming a Leadership Circle or Insider Circle donor.

Programming and Exhibition

Support towards Programming and Exhibition allows Inside Out to continue to provide innovative programming through its festivals and year-round screenings.

Industry Development

Supporting Industry Development helps Inside Out cultivate the current and next generation of 2SLGBTQ+ filmmakers, address inequities and gaps in the mainstream film industry and offer funding and opportunities for emerging filmmakers and mid-level talent to develop skills for success.

Equity and Accessibility

Donations made towards Equity and Accessibility go towards helping Inside Out in its commitment to equity and accessibility, including closed captioning, ASL interpreters, Free Youth and Senior Matinees and the Reel Access Project. Reel Access provides a discount on tickets and packages to seniors, students, under waged patrons and patrons with disabilities.

Community Engagement

Supporting Community Engagement helps Inside Out foster authentic outreach that ensures that all audience members feel a sense of belonging at the festival, including the Community Partner program (providing free screenings for underserved communities) and The Library (Inside Out's youth-focused educational resource platform).

Leadership and Insider Circle

Brings together a special group of donors and supporters who wish to support the growth of the Inside Out Film Festival and contribute to its continued success and all future iterations. By standing up and pledging your support for Inside Out at either Leadership Circle or Insider Circle level, you are actively declaring your support in our longevity, and our vision to promote, produce and exhibit the best 2SLGBTQ+ films the world has to offer.
