Our Mission
The Instrumental Society of Calgary (ISC) is a volunteer, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an outstanding, affordable chamber music concert series to Calgary audiences. Concerts feature solely Calgary-based performers, from classical duets to jazz quintets, showcasing their favorite music in the intimate and acoustically marvellous Scarboro United Church. Programs are chosen through an open proposal process, drawing a mixture of established groups and emerging artists.
ISC concerts reach an audience as eclectic as our performers. We actively seek partnerships, offering innovative educational and outreach programs. Through affordable ticket prices and very attractive offers for subscribers and families, we cultivate a broad demographic and an engaged group of listeners who return again and again.
Our main series consists of 8 concerts on Sunday afternoons from October through May. A vast and continually growing number of Calgary musicians have graced our stage, as have the works of many Canadian composers.
