IDA Ontario is a Canadian registered charity and branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Our mission is to create a future for all who struggle with dyslexia and other related reading differences.
IDA Ontario promotes literacy through research, education and advocacy by:
- -Parent/caregiver support and events.
- -Advocating for systemic change to remove barriers to literacy.
- -Creating and sharing free awareness resources for schools, families, and community centres.
- -Answering calls and emails through our Info Line, connecting families and educators with the right resources and support.
- -Building a Science of Reading course for librarians through our Page Partners program.
- -Providing resources to libraries that make reading accessible to all learners.
- -Hosting professional development webinars that give educators practical tools for the classroom.
- -Growing our podcast, The Reading Road Trip, raising awareness and sharing voices from across the dyslexia community.
- -Expanding structured literacy training for teachers in both English and French.
