An educational farm that connects youth and families to the importance of agriculture in our daily lives, both past and present.
Steckle Heritage Farm is a non-profit educational farm in Kitchener, Ontario. From 1833 to 1976, it was the Steckle family's homestead and was established as a charity by Dr. Jean Steckle in 1988 to carry on her vision of teaching respect for the land and for each other.
Today, our mission is to provide hands-on educational experiences to children and families to connect them with the importance of food and farming. By sharing knowledge about agricultural methods, opportunities, and challenges, we dream of a community able to make educated decisions about the food they eat while respecting the land and the people that produce it.
We offer farm tours based on school curriculum, summer day camps, parent-and-tot classes, special events, and rentals of our public health certified kitchen and garden space.
