Our Mission
The Jazz Performance and Education Centre (JPEC) is dedicated to the preservation and development of jazz in Canada. Incorporated in 2008, JPEC was created by a committee made up of jazz fans, musicians and business people, including some of the most important members of Toronto’s thriving jazz scene. The primary purpose of JPEC is to inspire and grow audiences for jazz through performance, education and recordings.
About Jazz Performance and Education Centre
JPEC's ultimate goal is the creation of a first-class venue which will feature performances by top local, national and international jazz talent; educational programming in which fans of all ages can learn about jazz; and a Hall of Fame and Archives which will help to preserve the tradition of outstanding jazz in Canada. The facility will enhance Toronto’s reputation as one of the best cities in North America in which to experience live jazz.
