Imagine your child is diagnosed with a serious illness or has just suffered a traumatic event. Your first instinct is to do everything possible to ease their pain and be by their side every step of the way. But for many families, that hope is quickly overshadowed by a harsh reality.

A child’s serious illness brings with it a long list of unexpected and overwhelming expenses. For families already living on modest incomes, the financial strain can be devastating. Parents often need to take unpaid time off work, or leave their jobs entirely, to care for their child full-time.

That’s where Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity steps in.

We provide timely & direct financial support to Ontario families caring for a child in medical crisis. Our assistance helps cover essential costs such as:

• transportation expenses so that parents/caregivers can safely get back and forth to the hospital.

• accommodation costs while staying away from home to care for their hospitalized child.
• meal support during an extended hospital stay.
• sibling childcare to enable parents to be bedside with their sick child.
• essential housing support to ensure families continue to have a home to return to.
• specialized equipment that aids in the transition from hospital to home.
• disposable medical supplies not covered by OHIP or private insurance.

Our goal is simple: to help children access the care they need and give parents the chance to be present when it matters most.
