Passover Assistance Campaign

The age old Jewish practice of Ma’ot Chitim ( מעות חיטים or “Wheat Money”) was established to ensure that all in the community could access matzah for Passover. Together with volunteers, donors, and community organizations, JCFS make this important tradition available to you to join in. Together we ensure that the celebration of Passover accessible to all in our community, and, more broadly, ensures that those struggling with food insecurity in our Jewish community, are fed.

Ma’ot Chitim does more than provide food. It provides dignity, care, and hope. It connects individuals and families back to Jewish traditions, and strengthens lives in keeping with Jewish values.

Last year, more than 500 people were able to experience Passover with their loved ones because of the generous support of people like you.  We were also able to provide 15,000 lbs of food from our JCFS Food Pantry, along with Jewish holiday baskets at Rosh Hoshannah and Hanukkah, to those struggling.

Your contributions and support create a mitzvah.

This year your gift will connect more than 160 individuals and families with the items needed to ensure a beautiful and meaningful Pesach. It will ensure that individuals and families have a place at a Seder table if they are unable to afford one.

Will you join us in the Mitzvah of Ma’ot Chitim?
