Many seniors, disabled people and individuals living below the poverty line depend on food banks and public lunch programs for their daily sustenance.
However, the dangers of COVID-19 have forced most of these resources in the Jewish community to temporarily shut down. In their absence, B'nai Brith has launched an emergency response program, where volunteers have been delivering kosher food to the doorsteps of those who would otherwise not have access to it during this crisis.
All social-distancing guidelines are followed strictly during the deliveries to ensure that recipients' health and safety are not put at risk. Every $75 donated ensures that another week's supply of food can be purchased and safely delivered to someone in desperate need.
