The Jewish Seniors Citizen’s Centre (aka Jewish Drop-in Centre) has been part of the Edmonton community since the early 1950’s. We are open Sunday through Thursday from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. and welcome any Albertan over the age of 50 to visit or join our Centre.
We provide health, wellness, recreational, nutritional, social and educational programs and services to our members. Example of our programs include outings to places of interest such as visits to the Opera, theatres, galleries; weekly Lunch and Learn talks on a varied list of topics from personal safety to artificial intelligence, fitness classes, Ikebana, choir, games and much more.
We offer a variety of courses for the intellectually curious, including our famous Winter Wednesday Series, Fall program "Learning in Retirement": a 6 week series of lectures on 4 topics each presented by a leader in their field. You are welcome to register for one or all four.
Lunch is served daily (Monday through Thursday)at 12p.m. and consists of freshly made soup, salad, entrée, dessert and beverage served to you at your table. All the food is kosher and is prepared from scratch by our cook and her team of volunteers.
People say we have the best seniors lunch program in the city!
Our Sunday Club programmes in Russian and Yiddish for members who are immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Most of these people are holocaust survivors.
The Jewish Seniors Citizen’s Centre is a growing dynamic centre in the heart of Edmonton, catering to the new senior who is eager to keep up with what is happening in the centre, in the community and in the world.
