Across the world’s conflicts, journalists put their lives on the line to report what’s really happening. Without them, the public is left with propaganda, disinformation and deliberate silence. When violence erupts, truth and those who pursue it are one of the first targets.
But the threat doesn’t end at the battlefield. In countries where governments suppress dissent, restrict media freedoms or evade scrutiny for human rights abuses, journalists face censorship, harassment and arbitrary detention simply for doing their jobs. Their reporting is often the only barrier between unchecked power and unseen abuse.
With the help of your donations, we will launch the JHR Reporting on Conflict fund that will support journalists covering human rights abuses in active conflict zones, starting in Ukraine, Sudan and Gaza. We currently have no dedicated funding for this work. Your support today matters.
