Joe Ink’s mandate is to create original performance works for public presentation and to raise the profile of dance in the Canadian cultural mosaic. The company seeks to inspire, empower and motivate people through the medium of dance.

Our mission is to push the edge creatively and artistically; to fulfill our potential as artists; to strengthen community through dance; and to demonstrate a generosity of spirit in everything we undertake.

Led by Artistic Director, Joe Laughlin, Joe Ink was founded in 1995 and has built a reputation for its versatility, creating provocative, witty and lyrical work. Described as “wickedly sophisticated,” “unusual,” and “daring,” this Vancouver dance company speaks in a movement language all its own.

Since its inception, Joe Ink has balanced local performances and projects in partnership with national and international artists and organizations. In addition to a large portfolio of successful works, Joe Ink has also produced public performances in the context of the community-based dance program, Move it!, for more than ten years.
