Jusoor's aim is to invest in Syria’s youth for a better tomorrow. Founded by Syrian expatriates, we are a non-partisan, non-religious NGO, that helps Syrian youth realize their potential through programs in the fields of education, career development, and global community engagement. In the short span of eight years, Jusoor has gained global recognition as a leader in extending educational opportunities for Syrian youth, enabling more than 600 Syrian students to complete their university education.

Why Support Scholarships: The Syrian crisis has claimed over 500,000 lives, and the number of those forced to flee their homes has exceeded a staggering 10 million. The impact on Syrian university students has been devastating as hundreds of thousands of Syrians have been unable to continue their education. The rate of participation in higher education by Syrian women, once close to 50%, has reached the single digits. For example, in Turkey less than 1% of Syrian women refugees are enrolled in higher education.

Our 100 Syrian Women, 10,000 Syrian Lives Program is Jusoor's flagship scholarship program for Syrian newcomer women in Canada to continue their higher education degrees. The program supports Syrian women in Canada who have demonstrated exemplary social service through leadership, academic excellence, and civic responsibility. They embody the empathy, humility, courage, and resilience necessary to become leaders in their communities and beyond.
