“The Kamloops Naturalist Club is dedicated to keeping nature worth knowing.”

For 50 years now KNC has been committed to its dual mission of nature education and nature preservation. We offer a monthly speakers series on interesting nature related topics, run a kids program, a youth environmental leadership program, and organize field trips to discuss and experience nature together. We work with other clubs within BC Nature, like minded groups, and the Secwepemc people on whose territory we operate, to promote policies that will protect and restore the environment.

Our club activities are varied and include organizing wilderness cleanups, conducting wildlife surveys and ecological restorations, giving talks at schools, and publishing information on local birds and wildlife.

Above all we try and engage with the people in our community to enlist their help in addressing the climate emergency and the rapidly disappearing natural world. Programs and events are chosen which foster a connection between people and nature. Wherever possible knowledge is shared that empowers people to take positive action in their own lives.
