Rooted in youth work, now intergenerational—Kapisanan nurtures Filipino creativity, culture, and community in Toronto.
Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture is a multiple award-winning charitable arts organization based in Toronto. Rooted in more than three decades of community arts practice, Kapisanan is now stewarded by an intergenerational collective of Filipino/a/x arts and community leaders—upholding our long-standing commitment to youth empowerment while drawing on the wisdom and experience of those who helped build the community before us.
Our mission is to support Filipino/a/x youth, artists, newcomers, and families through arts education, cultural programming, mentorship, and community-building. Kapisanan provides brave, culturally grounded spaces where young people can explore identity, deepen artistic practice, and strengthen their connection to heritage.
Kapisanan delivers a range of year-round creative and cultural initiatives, including community arts festivals, multidisciplinary workshops, mentorship opportunities with established Filipino artists, and programs that nurture leadership among Filipino/a/x femme, queer, and non-binary youth. We also host public talks and cultural conversations that bring together artists, authors, and scholars from across the diaspora.
We are committed to removing barriers to participation by offering free, accessible programming, stipends, and welcoming spaces for youth, newcomers, and LGBTQ2S+ artists. Through art-making, storytelling, celebration, and intergenerational exchange, Kapisanan remains a vibrant cultural home where Filipino/a/x communities can find belonging, build confidence, and realize their full creative potential.
Our Mission & Vision
Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture nurtures community through education on Philippine arts and culture by providing meaningful opportunities for engagement, exploration and evolution.
We, at the K, envision a world where Philippine arts and culture are shared for community enrichment and education.

Kapisanan is inviting you to be part of our renewed chapter. With limited resources but an abundance of heart, our small intergenerational team is working to rebuild, reimagine, and expand the ways our community experiences Filipino/a/x arts and culture. Your support helps us nurture young artists, create accessible cultural programs, and sustain a vibrant home where our stories, traditions, and creative expressions can thrive. We hope you’ll join us in Kapisanan’s revival—and we look forward to sharing space, creativity, and celebration with you soon.
