The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society has been part of the community since 1892, helping to build healthy families by working with parents and community partners to address concerns and resolve issues that impact on a child’s safety and well-being.

We work with organizations across the region, providing child protection and family support programs to the City of Peterborough, County of Peterborough, City of Kawartha Lakes, and Haliburton County.

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society is a not-for-profit agency that, by law, is required to protect children from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect.

All donations received are forwarded to the Kawartha-Haliburton Children's Foundation.  The Foundation then provides funding for various programs that support the children, youth and families involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children's Aid Society.  Programming includes:  summer camp, extracurricular activities, comfort kits for those being removed from home, sweet dreams, kinship supports, child safety equipment, bursaries, gift cards for youth transitioning to independence, and annual gift giving at Christmas.
