Vision: Saving children’s hearts from the effects of Kawasaki disease.
Mission: Kawasaki disease is top-of-mind for Canadians.
Impact to Canadians:
Kawasaki disease (KD) is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in Canadian children. Over 650 children are diagnosed annually in Canada and approximately 25% of these children will develop lifelong heart problems. Awareness and early detection of KD is critical. Treatment within the first 10 days of onset of fever can dramatically reduce the number with heart problems to less than 5%. With your financial support, we can help save over 100 children's hearts every year!
