about

Our Mission

Our mission at the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club International Aid Fund is a simple one. There are too many women and children throughout the world who find themselves in a state of helpless desperation. Some of the most vulnerable people on the planet suffer daily abuse, neglect or worse. We must recognize that by helping alleviate the suffering of women and children, significant change can reverberate through the heart of a community, allowing it to prosper in ways not thought possible. We are committed to helping women and children in remote geographies, who can demonstrate the need and the ability to use our aid to provide measurable benefit to themselves and their people. From the highlands of Bolivia, to the plains of Malawi, the KCRC International Aid fund doesn’t shy away from a challenge because of inconvenience. Our reputation for uncompromising international aid is forged in the very foundation of our Rotary Club, established in 1974 for the purpose of raising awareness for the plight of the world’s most disenfranchised people. It is from a belief that we can do more and we must do better that the International Aid Fund has managed to impact the lives of countless global citizens over the years and we’ll continue to do so as we face the challenges for a new generation. We welcome you to engage with us so that we can work together to make this a reality.

About KCRC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND

Decades of international work has helped us define how to successfully carry-through with a project, from inception to completion. We use a ‘Champion’ system whereby a member of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club must personally represent a cause if it’s going to be considered at the International Aid Fund. This ensures that each project is managed in close alignment with the principles of Rotary. We apply a rigorous application process and work in-step with partners on the ground before a project is approved, and report thoroughly on a fixed-term timeline using measurable milestones. We take what we do seriously because so much is at stake for those in need of our support.
