Seniors are among the most vulnerable to COVID-19 which can be life-threatening for many. To help keep our community safe, Kerby Centre has temporarily shut its doors to the public but we’re committed to continuing our vital outreach services to support the most vulnerable seniors in Calgary.

Kerby Centre's outreach initiatives like our COVID-19 hotline, food security program and wellness calls to isolated seniors, are providing a lifeline to the community and are helping seniors feel safe and secure knowing that they are being supported and cared for during these challenging times.

We launched a food security program and expanded our grocery delivery program to provide at risk seniors and those in self isolation due to COVID-19 with much needed groceries, frozen meals and/or prescriptions and social isolation check ins. We've now delivered more than 6,500 free meals to vulnerable seniors.

Our Elder Abuse Line has remained open to support seniors facing abuse and the Kerby Rotary Shelter continues to provide safe and secure shelter for seniors fleeing abuse. And the Kerby team of staff and volunteers has made more than 4,500 wellness calls to isolated seniors in our community.
