OUR MISSION

Kids Up Front believes in the power of connection. We create opportunities for inclusion and inspiration. We empower kids to cheer as curtains rise, goals are scored, and orchestras crescendo. We afford families a shared experience that sparks joy and creates lifelong memories. We open doors to thousands of first-time experiences, expanding horizons and igniting new passions.

We promote social inclusion by removing barriers to community venues and events. Our innovative program offers free tickets to age-appropriate programs such as theatre performances, concerts, sporting events and museums. Attendance at events like these fosters feelings of belonging in the children we support, allowing them to safely explore new interests and experience all our city has to offer.

HOW IT WORKS

We are a collaborative organization. We reach children across Ottawa through our network of over 115 partnered Community Agencies. These include community health centres, after school programs, mental health supports, and schools. These agencies connect us to equity deserving recipients in every neighbourhood across Ottawa.

PROGRAM BENEFITS

Increased connection to community and reduced feelings of isolation: Recipients feel more closely connected to everyone attending the event together. They also note a stronger relationship with the agency providing the tickets, as well as increased inclusion in the overall community. One agency staff member notes:
