About KINGS COUNTY ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES SOCIETY
Our Society delivers a community-based transportation service, including wheelchair accessible,to our members (nearing 600) who are persons with disabilities and seniors who reside in Kings County, Nova Scotia. We accomplish the service delivery by working with a team of volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles and are reimbursed a mileage rate, as well as using our two society-owned vans; one wheelchair accessible and one seven passenger van. We are currently seeking funds to purchase a second wheelchair aceesible van as nearly 15% of our membership now requires this service.
