The Kingston Scout Museum

about

Mission

To bring back memories, to promote learning and to encourage youth to be a part of a new generation of Scouting.

About Us

In 2007, several members of the 35th Baden-Powell Guild came together to undertake an exciting project.  This Guild is comprised of retired scouters who continue to have a passion for Scouting and the impact it has made on the Kingston community.  Guild volunteers were able to collect a large and varied collection of artifacts and archives that record and illustrate that history.  The Museum was opened to the public from a building owned by Scouts Canada (a separate organization).

In 2022, the building was deemed superfluous and demolished.  The Museum was forced to pack up its contents and move them to a large storage room in the Harold Harvey Centre, located in Kingston’s Portsmouth Village.  Over the last several months, volunteers have been re-organizing our collections and exhibits with a view to creating a virtual museum, set to be published in the next several weeks.

That virtual museum is now live!  Stop by and please leave your comments.
