About Kitsilano Christian Community
We are always looking for new and relevant ways to express our faith and our commitment to our community, but we also find that it’s not always necessary to re-invent the wheel. People spent a lot of time and effort to try and summarize the key points of the Christian faith when they came up with statements like the Apostles’ Creed. It is a good summary of what we believe as a church.
Kitsilano Christian Community is committed to our neighbourhood of Kitsilano. We appreciate and respect all Christian denominations that know, love and serve the Lord Jesus. Our affiliation is with one of the largest Protestant communities, the Baptists. Canadian Baptists are one of the most culturally, ethnically and geographically diverse denominations in Canada. Committed to the bible as an authority, we believe the good news of the gospel message unites salvation and compassion, evangelism and justice.
Like many churches, we believe each of us must personally trust God in working out our relationship with Him through prayer, Bible study, life experience, relationship and instruction. At Kits, there is room for everyone. That includes those who aren’t yet ready to trust God and who are on a journey where they are searching and want a safe place to ask questions and interact with a community of faith.
