Kivi Park Community Foundation

about

An adventurous four-season destination for the entire family.

Kivi Park is a unique charity offering over 480 acres of land to be explored and enjoyed in Greater Sudbury. The park is filled with all the biodiversity that Sudbury is known for, with some of the region's best waterways. The 75+ km trail network is expertly maintained year-round for activities like hiking, mountain biking, fat biking, snowshoeing, and both classic cross-country skiing and skate skiing. The park can be explored by water at Crowley Lake, where canoe, kayak, and SUP rentals are available. And the magic of Kivi at night is found at Nina’s Way skate path, a lit-up winding path through Kivi’s forest. Offering a wide variety of activities for any season, Kivi Park is a destination for the entire family to enjoy.

Studies show that physical activity and spending time outdoors significantly impacts individuals' physical and mental health. Kivi Park plays a key role in offering everyone a wonderful way to share in outdoor wellness.

Your gift makes an impact to help maintain the park's quality and provides opportunities to expand with new and exciting additions for you, your family and the community to enjoy Kivi.

Your contribution has a critical impact and will go towards:

  • Providing students from across all school boards access to Kivi Park for school trips, athletic training and competitions.
  • Annual tree planting, as part of our regreening efforts, we endeavour to plant 20,000 trees annually with a commitment to plant 100,000 by 2026.
  • Annual wildflower planting, as part of our regreening efforts, we have planted over 800 plants annually since 2021.
  • Our partnership with Forest School, a local program supporting children’s desire to explore and learn in the outdoors.
  • Maintenance of the trails and equipment in support of Ontario’s first Training Centre for Para-Nordic Athletes.
  • Supporting the Affordability Fund to provide over 100 individuals and families who require financial assistance the opportunity to enjoy all that Kivi has to offer. Through the Affordability Fund, Kivi has partnered with 16 local organizations like YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, CAS, Shkaganuj-Kwe Health Centre, and the Sudbury Women’s Centre, providing over 400 annual passes
  • Offering free seniors programming at Kivi Park
  • Maintenance of the overall park quality, permitting a safe and welcoming environment for all as the preferred event location for local fundraising events resulting in over $1.7 million in funds raised locally
