The Kiwanis Club of Saint John is assisting Kiwanis International and Unicef to raise US$110 million to eliminate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) in developing countries around the world. The government of Canada will match all gifts dollar for dollar that are given through the Kiwanis Charities of Saint John.
Some facts about MNT and the solution that Kiwanis and Unicef provides:

1 baby dies every 11 minutes from tetanus

134 newborns die every day from tetanus

MNT has been eliminated from more than 35 countries since 2000.

A series of 3 doses of the tetanus vacine = immunity from tetanus

Women + vaccine = protect baby

US$1.80 protects one woman and her future babies

$25.00 donation will protect 28 women and their future chldren (with the matching grant from the government of Canada)
