La Boîte Rouge VIF (La BRV) is an indigenous cultural organization that considers co-creation and collaborative research as support for cultural transmission. It highlights the know-how and knowledge of the First Peoples by drawing on consensus-based approaches and collaborative methods which result in the creation and dissemination of multidisciplinary and multicultural productions. The fields most often addressed are the visual arts and various artistic practices supporting transmission such as design and the arts, video and cinema, interactivity, media and digital arts, and all forms of art which have the potential of encouraging transmission and convey cultural dimensions. The BRV works in a variety of museum contexts within Indigenous communities.

La BRV's artistic vision is to be a creative hub where encounters among individuals, communities and cultural identities, taking place in common spaces, are focused on expressing the vitality of Indigenous cultures. Through co-creation, (inter)cultural mediation strategies and a multidisciplinary approach, we are committed to bringing forth renewed expressions of identity, a driving force of cultural security and self-determination. They work collaboratively to bring together ideas and the voices of local knowledge-keepers, which allows us to conceive unique productions that are authentic, and rooted in local culture. Furthermore, community members identify with the productions and feel pride. They encompass tools for memory and learning for future generations.
