La Ressource is a community group based in Montreal's St-Michel neighborhood since 1999. We take care of children and youths that have intellectual disabilities, with or without autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and provide them with a safe environment and a complete program of activities. All services are provided by seasoned educators to develop the autonomy and socialization skills of all participants. Our ultimate objective is to help young people who have an intellectual disability, with or without ASD, in developing their full potential in view of their eventual integration into society, while offering parents and caregivers much needed moments of respite.

The parents who founded and adminstrate La Ressource insist that their respite home be more than a babysitting facility and provide a stimulating environment centered on the development of participants' skills. This feature explains the presence within our organization of an educational consultant and the upkeep of premises suited to TEACCH program requirements.

At present, La Ressource provides four different respite services to it's participants : weekend day care, Summer and Winter day camps, as well as occasionnal overnight programs. In 2014, we introduced a pilot project to our offer of services, more specifically a daycare program for youths 21 years +, presently available one day a week.
