ABOUT THE JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY OF QUEBEC
The John Howard Society of Quebec is a provincial not-for-profit, charitable organization committed to providing a broad range of community services throughout the province of Quebec that address the problem of crime and its consequences.
The Society is part of a wider national network of provincial and territorial Societies whose collective goal is to understand and respond to problems of crime and the criminal justice system. The Societies are fiscally responsible for the continuance of the work and service of the National Office.
Through prevention and intervention services as well as advocacy, research, public education, coalition building and cross-sector partnerships, the JHS Quebec believes in taking a holistic approach to tackling the problem of crime and its consequences.
Our overall goal is to contribute in the effort to building and supporting strong, healthy, and safe communities.
Our diverse client group includes youth, adults, and the elderly, males, females, and LGBTQ, from a wide range of social, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous and linguistic minority groups as well as immigrant and refugee populations.
